Quality Engineering Job Responsibilities:

Delta Gear Quality Engineer serves as an interface between Delta Gear Engineering and Delta Gear Inspection department. The Quality Engineer participates in Engineering project intake and manufacturing readiness reviews to help ensure that all processes are complete and ready to release to manufacturing and inspection. The Quality Engineer accomplishes these duties by actions including the following:

• Ensures that all applicable customer requirements have been identified and included in manufacturing and inspection processes.
• Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
• Establishes statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error (AQL); determining levels of confidence.
• Provides statistical information for quality improvement by identifying testing methods and samples.
• Acting as main customer quality requirements lead.
• Develops sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods.
• Maintains statistical process controls by applying demerit/unit, zone charting, x2 charts for distributions and individual-medial/range for multi-stream processes.
• Analyzes data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests.
• Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies; maintaining American Society for Quality Certified Quality Engineer qualification.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Quality Engineering Qualifications:

• Bachelor�s Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred
• AS13001 Certification preferred
• 3-5 years� experience
• Excellent computer literacy
• Understanding of QA processes
• Ability to objectively review and qualify objective data
