Summary
Reporting to the Manufacturing Quality Manager, under minimum direction, the Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting all activities related to product and process requirements in a matrix organization. This job requires strong communication skills. The Quality Engineer must be an effective performer demonstrating self-reliance, initiative and have the ability to make independent decisions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Competency
Assist in driving total Quality across all production. Ensure Business Management System requirements are met. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail are essential to carry out this role. Must be self-motivated, committed, and complete work in a timely manner. Effective communication skills are necessary.

Education and/or Experience
Associates, Bachelors, or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience
- Experience with utilizing ERP or MES preferred.
- Experience utilizing Quality Management Software such as TIP QA or Infor LN preferred
Computer Skills
The individual should be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency with email, internet and intranet is expected.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before large groups of customer, vendors, or employees.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Work Environment
Although this is an office-based position, this is an electronic assembly environment that involves no unusual physical risks or hazardous conditions. The type of equipment that must be used includes but is not limited to electronic diagnostic equipment and Automated Inspection Equipment. Protective eyewear and/or smocks are required in some work environments. Electrostatic (ESD) precautions must be taken in this work environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. There is an expectation that certain Quality workstation will require extended use of microscope (20X).
