Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION 

The intern or co-op will collaborate closely with the quality and manufacturing engineering teams on both ongoing and new projects. In addition to team-based efforts, the role will include individual assignments designed to provide hands-on, real-world experience in quality engineering within an aerospace manufacturing environment. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze quality data using to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement
  • Investigate and problem-solve non-conformances through root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Assist in quality engineering projects
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering personnel to resolve quality issues and improve processes
  • Perform internal process audits to assess adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Support review and disposition of product nonconformances
  • Review and update product inspection planning
  • Present findings and lessons learned management at the end of term
  • Other job duties as assigned

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES

This position will not direct the work of any other employees.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing a degree in aerospace, manufacturing, mechanical engineering or other related field of study
  • US Citizen or Green Card Holder

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED

  • Capacity to understand, interpret, and work with technical information such as drawings, bill of materials, specifications, etc.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  Must be comfortable with all levels of personnel, from Operator to Upper Management.
  • Good mechanical aptitude with a desire to problem solve
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Maximize productivity through effective time management
  • Self-motivated, hands-on approach, can-do attitude
  • Detail-oriented and accountable to produce accurate work outputs
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Good understanding of MS office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio). 3D CAD modeling knowledge is a plus, but not required
