KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Ravn Alaska Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) is responsible for repairs and maintenance on assigned aircraft, as trained and qualified to perform. The Aircraft Maintenance Technician performs work both independently and as a team to ensure line maintenance and scheduled repairs are completed thoroughly and efficiently. While most work is completed in the company’s enclosed hangar space, sometimes travel is required out to remote locations to perform urgent repairs. Other responsibilities aligned with Ravn Alaska Core Values include but are not limited to:

  • Upholding safety by ensuring all work is completed in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies, procedures, maintenance publications, and the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). Our technicians’ commitment to safety is shown in the attention they give to the fine details, like taking extra time to review repair procedures or to thoroughly complete corresponding paperwork.
  • Demonstrating reliability by finishing assigned repairs and maintenance fully and promptly, communicating with all necessary supervisor(s) on possible needs to minimize delays or disruptions in flight schedules. 
  • Showing integrity and pride in the craft by participating in company training activities, which includes currency requirements and professional development opportunities.
  • Encouraging continued commitment to excellence amongst the team by assisting when urgent repairs or maintenance arise, collaborating on shared tasks, participating in special projects, and ensuring deadlines are achieved.
  • Identifying and reporting safety hazards in the work environment or when confronted with an unsafe situation. Everyone is encouraged to promote a positive safety culture, which includes following accident prevention procedures and supporting the organization in compliance with Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Promoting connectedness amongst the entire Maintenance team, including Inspections and Stores, by engaging in courteous and respectful interactions that foster respect, efficiency, and offer the potential for professional development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate has the required certifications and ratings in addition to the essential skills of troubleshooting, attention to detail, and manual dexterity. Other qualifications include:

  • Must possess high school diploma/GED.
  • Must possess a current FAA mechanic certificate with both an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) rating.
  • Must have a minimum of one year of aircraft maintenance experience or graduated from an accredited A&P program or university. 
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings to perform required maintenance tasks.
  • Must be able to effectively troubleshoot aircraft systems and be willing to use resources to research solutions.
  • Must have diligent record-keeping skills and be proficient, or able to become proficient, in documentation using maintenance tracking software program, which includes material requisitions.
  • Must have own hand tools or be willing to purchase the necessary tools to perform the responsibilities of the position.
  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather, when necessary.
  • Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position, which includes repeatedly lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record check.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, to include overnights, weekends, and holidays, and be able to travel to remote Alaskan locations occasionally.
  • Must have a strong safety awareness and the ability to adhere to Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug test. 
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Must be comfortable working in an airport environment around odors and sounds typically associated with operating aircraft.
