In this role you will be responsible for the management of revenue yield and reservations for the hotel on a day-to-day basis. You will ensure an effective and professional reservations service to achieve maximum room revenue and excellent customer service. This is a full-time permanent role based in Novotel Christchurch Airport.

Responsibilities | Ngā haepapa

  • Balancing of financial objectives and maximizing total revenues and profits
  • Implementation of all reservation policies and procedures
  • Constant upkeep of all Reservation Systems to ensure accurate data
  • Build and maintain high levels of communication with other teams
  • Monitor occupancy for upcoming 12 weeks and prepare a 3 month forecast each Monday to distribute to the Hotel Manager.
  • Keep up to date with Local/National events.
  • Ensure special handling of repeats, VIP guests and special requests
  • Actively liaise with the Conference & Events Sales Manager to confirm group room rates/requests
  • Have sound knowledge specified yield management practises and lead a weekly business strategy meeting with the Head of Department team
  • Establishing monthly Budget / Business Plan and striving to achieve the agreed profitability
  • Handle client compliments or complaints and ensure proper feedback to Hotel Manager for communication or rectification by department(s) concerned


Requirements

About you | Ko koe tenei

  • Minimum 3 years experience as Reservation Manager or Assistant Manager in a similar size hotel.
  • Qualifications appropriate to the role e.g. Hotel Management / Bachelor in Tourism/Bachelor of Commerce/Business/Sales & Marketing.
  • Expert in Opera PMS and Accor Reservations Standards/systems.
  • Advanced Computer Skills – MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent people skills, able to adapt style and approach to interact professionally with a variety of people and requests.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business conditions.
  • Must hold the right to work in New Zealand
