Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Research, analyze, design, implement and enforce facility’s safety program, policies and procedures.
  • Identify and interpret federal, state and local safety codes; ensure facility complies with these safety regulations.
  • Provide advice, assistance, and audit line management to ensure that EHS initiatives are implemented and effective.
  • Perform and contribute to the site training plans by conducting employee orientation; emergency response training; and coordination of recurring training programs in compliance with all local, state, federal, OSHA standards and regulations.
  • Consult on the design and ergonomics of equipment.
  • Develop, implement and monitor safety procedures and protocol.
  • Develop and Manage Safety Management System and track progress.
  • Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits, regulatory requirements, and safety equipment.
  • Ensure that contractor personnel working on property are in compliance with company policies and safety requirements.
  • Provide reports on status of facility’s environment, health and safety program to management.
  • Participate in accident and injury investigation.
  • Compile, track and submit accident reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Recommend corrective and preventative measures.
  • Lead the emergency response and create a program that complies with company policies and procedures.
  • Motivate staff to adopt a safety-first culture and develop safety advocates.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • Capable of training others effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in safety engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field required.
  • At least three years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Certified Safety Professional status preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to traverse entire facility and make visual inspections of safety practices and conditions.
