The Role
The CAA provides expert advice, guidance and recommendations to Government on the development of aviation security policy and regulation, and to the aviation industry on its delivery. The CAA is also responsible for oversight and assurance of effective aviation security delivered by industry in the UK.
Aviation Security (AvSec) Regulation Group is responsible for undertaking research and analysis in order to understand the regulatory options for industry in discharging security controls in accordance with the National Aviation Security Programme (NASP). The AvSec Regulation Team is responsible for devising and drafting regulations reflecting Government policy, through working with lawyers and finalising regulatory measures with the Department for Transport (DfT) based on Government policy direction.
The role of the Aviation Security Regulation Senior Advisor is primarily to support senior managers within the team undertaking the following:
This post is positioned within the AvSec Regulation Division but will also engage closely with the CAA Compliance Division and wider, related sectors of the CAA, in order to ensure that the Regulation Team is able to discharge its regulatory and oversight functions effectively.

The role will also offer you exposure to senior leadership teams in the UK’s aviation industry and will involve working closely with a variety of departments internally and across government.
Additional Information
For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.
To be vetted we will usually expect a reasonable period of residency in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken. For this role this will need to be 5 years.
