The role of a Senior Maintenance Planner is integral to the operations of Voyageur, ensuring that each aircraft work package is coordinated and modified to customer expectations. This position involves a meticulous approach to planning and coordination, requiring a deep understanding of aircraft systems and maintenance procedures. By analyzing historical data and performance metrics, the planner can forecast maintenance needs, optimizing the lifecycle of the aircraft and minimizing downtime. Collaboration with engineering, maintenance teams and customers are essential to secure the necessary resources for each task. Furthermore, the planner must effectively communicate with all stakeholders, providing accurate and timely information about maintenance schedules and updates, which is critical for the seamless operation of the fleet and satisfaction of both internal teams and customers. This multifaceted role not only demands technical expertise but also exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills to maintain the delicate balance between operational demands and regulatory compliance.
Maintenance Planning
- Create tasks on a program level within the CMP
- Apply tasks to specific aircraft within the CMP
- Create aircraft work orders based on customer requirements
- Create and Populate work orders and tasks to reflect customer required scopes
- Prepare work packages for the hangar production team
- Audit work packages and ensure all data contained within is correct and accurate
- Coordinate material requirements with procurement to ensure all customer requested modifications and repairs are known and ordered
- Coordinate outside services for specific tasking requirements as well as Coordinate engineering services to execute data for repairs and modifications
- Provide technical assistance to the maintenance team throughout work scope project life cycle to ensure scope of work is to plan and information is transmitted properly
- Ensure all work done is in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Support and train all Junior Maintenance planners and Planning coordinators in current processes and procedures
Project Quotes
- Communicate with internal and external managers to understand and develop requested work packages
- Review customer supplied work scope and data to ensure accurate and most up to date information is provided to the production team
- Audit work scope and discuss with customer and production team regarding any discrepancies
- Transfer data from work scope to a Project Quote spreadsheet for scope approvals and contract refinements.
- Research required labour estimates and parts costing using all necessary resources to ensure accurate reporting of scope
- Audit and prepare final quote prior to customer receipt.
- Present and review quote with Manager, Maintenance Planning and production team prior to execution of work package
Customer Support
- Communicate with customers to ensure expectations throughout the project life cycle.
- Research and recommend work scope solutions to customer needs.
- Maintain discussions with customers to determine scope changes due to production team findings.
- Coordinate cost estimates with Materials to develop solutions to customers.
Aircraft special Programs
- Interpret aircraft storage requirements in accordance with manufacturer publications.
- Create aircraft/engine storage work orders within the CMP
- Populate work orders with monthly storage tasks within the
- Manage storage program requirements to provide data to the production team
- Research specific requirements if needed to support Production and Managers
Your Distinctive Ingredients for Success:
- Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance, Engineering, or a related technical field; or a university degree in a related discipline.
- College Aircraft Maintenance Technician Diploma or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License is an asset.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the aviation industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements and internal processes.
- Strong planning and organizational skills to manage projects effectively and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to evaluate and implement compliance with regulatory standards.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality work under constraints.
