Sheet Metal Worker

JMC Aviation is working with an MRO company based in Birmingham, looking to recruit a new Sheet Metal Worker to join their team.

This client is a leading MRO dealing with line and base maintenance as well as interior modifications, fuel systems repairs and maintenance for both commercial and military aircraft. The company has been operating for close to 30 years, providing outstanding customer service and encouraging a warm, positive environment to aid employee progression.

This is a Permanent Position based in Birmingham, UK.

5/5/4 shift pattern, working 07:00 to 19:00.

The Role

The primary purpose of this role is to adhere to company and manufacturers procedures while undertaking aircraft structural modifications.

Other duties involve

• Removing major aircraft structural sections, whilst stress jacked
• Working to fine tolerances and high standards
• Upholding high standards of housekeeping
• Adhering to company and manufacturers procedures
• Implementing modifications from drawings and procedures

In order to be successful in this role the Sheet Metal Worker will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes

• Live aircraft and structures experience
• Completed an aircraft engineering apprenticeship
• Demonstratable experience in an aircraft modification/production environment
• Experience of implementing and carrying out aircraft component modifications
• Experienced and capable of reading manufacturers drawings and SRMs
• Knowledge of MS Office applications
• Right to live and work in the UK
• Subject to UK security vetting
