The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor coordinates activities engaged in verifying and record keeping on incoming/outgoing shipments. This position prepares items for shipment, studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods, required to meet shipping and receiving schedules. This position is also responsible for the physical delivery of customer orders including supervising the company drivers and material handler.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Utilizes shipping systems accurately to process orders; ensures proper packaging methods to negate shipping damage
  • Oversees incoming/outgoing shipping & delivery activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments
  • Demonstrates great customer service and communication skills to internal or external customers
  • Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of shipping materials on hand
  • Processes shipping paperwork per process demands
  • Supervises delivery driver activities, and ensures timely maintenance of vehicles
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
  • Responsible for supervising the material handling process
  • Develops, coaches and leads the packing, shipping and receiving staff by fostering a positive work environment that encourages collaboration.
  • Maintains appropriate records reflecting receiving, shipping and damaged or defective items
  • Responsible for picking and tracking of stock materials
  • Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills required
  • Inventory management experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with packaging materials used to safety transport all products
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; understanding of Epicor is a PLUS!
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of the customer and problem solve in a timely manner
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude; Team player; Driven; Motivated to learn
