The Electric Propulsion Systems and Maturity Engineer will spearhead the development of cutting-edge electric propulsion systems for aerospace applications. This role encompasses the entire lifecycle from system specification and conceptual design to detailed design, prototyping, integration, qualification, and certification.

Key Responsibilities
System Requirements Capture: Gather and review system requirements from customer specifications.
Customer Interaction: Engage with customers to review and validate requirements.
Certification Compliance: Ensure all certification requirements are captured and validated.
System Architecture: Define the overall system architecture, including electrical and data interfaces.
Safety and Reliability Analysis: Conduct thorough safety and reliability analyses.
Requirements Flow Down: Translate system requirements into detailed equipment requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with equipment engineers and safety engineers to define attributes and support safety assessments.
Design Review: Evaluate equipment designs for compliance with system objectives.
Qualification and Maturity Plans: Develop and execute comprehensive qualification and maturity plans.
Test Procedures: Specify test setups and elaborate on procedures for functional, performance, environmental, and electromagnetic qualification.
Testing and Troubleshooting: Execute qualification tests, analyze results, and troubleshoot system issues.
Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on test results, problem reports, and system verification.
Health Monitoring Strategies: Develop procedures for HALT, HASS, ESS, endurance testing, and health monitoring.
Technical Attributes and Experience Essential
Proven experience in new product development and phase-gate processes.
Expertise in developing electromechanical propulsion or actuation systems.
Proficiency in high voltage motor control equipment development.
Strong background in requirements-based development, management, and V&V processes.
Familiarity with airworthiness certification requirements.
Experience in safety assessment, FMEA, and FTA.
Knowledge of reliability growth, product maturity, and readiness.
Proficiency in ESS, HALT, HASS, and endurance tests.
Experience with PHM, ARP 4754A, and DO-160.
Proficiency in IBM DOORS or JAMA, MATLAB, and Simulink.
Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity.
Effective communication and networking skills.
Strong collaboration, planning, and organizational skills.
Attention to detail and innovation.
Interpersonal savvy and action-oriented mindset.
Ability to optimize work processes and balance stakeholder needs.
Resilience, customer focus, and a commitment to continuous learning.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
Preferred
Experience with power electronics and motor control.
Expertise in safety assessment and reliability prediction.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
At least 7 years of experience in motor control and modeling.
