The Dane County Regional Airport has a current full time (1.0 FTE) vacancy for a Terminal Maintenance Supervisor. Normal work hours: Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 11:30pm. The Eligibility List created will be used to fill future vacancies over the next six (6) months.

DEFINITION
Under general supervision, this position supervises the work of employees in terminal maintenance operations at the Dane County Regional Airport in either the first shift (i.e., days) or second shift (i.e., evenings). Assesses repair, maintenance and custodial needs, and plans, implements and oversees activities to meet those needs. Directs snow removal operations and performs other related work as required.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Perform supervision of subordinate employees. Inspect airport facilities and equipment and oversee corrective actions. Supervise snow and ice control operations. Operate light equipment. Ensure compliance with rules, regulations and standard industry practices. Maintain records on the repair and maintenance of airport facilities and equipment. Represent the airport in communicating with external groups. Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
Education, Training and Experience:
Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to graduation from High School and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the maintenance and upkeep of large commercial or industrial buildings and building systems, including four (4) years of supervisory experience.
Must have a valid driver’s license, and access to reliable personal transportation, or equivalent. Must be available for work at any time including nights, holidays, weekends; during winter and severe weather events, and for airport emergencies. Candidates who reach the final selection stage will be subject to an FBI criminal history records check, TSA security assessment, employment history verification, and a driving record background check. Also refer to the “Physical and Environmental Work Requirements” section below.
Background Check Statement: Some positions may require a criminal background check which can include fingerprinting due to the nature of the job’s responsibilities. Wisconsin’s Fair Employment Law, s. 111.31 – 111.395, Wis. Stats., prohibits discrimination because of an arrest or conviction record. However, Dane County may disqualify an applicant if the position’s responsibilities are substantially related to the applicant’s criminal history (e.g., the nature of the crime and its relationship to the position, whether hiring, transferring or promoting an applicant would pose an unreasonable risk to the business, its employees, customers and vendors, etc.) Management reserves the right to make employment contingent upon successful completion of the background check.

Physical and Environmental Work Requirements:
Professional office work environment. Work involves walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, twisting, turning, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, grasping, and reaching within normal ranges. Ability to lift and move a variety of work-related materials weighing up to 25 pounds (with/without assistance). Prolonged computer and phone use. Manual dexterity using fine and gross motor skills. Ability to speak and be heard by others. Ability to see and hear within normal ranges with or without corrective devices.
Knowledge of the materials, equipment, methods and practices used in the maintenance of large commercial buildings. Knowledge of various building systems maintenance and repair requirements. Knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions. Knowledge of the effects of rain, snow, ice, wind, temperature and other factors which affect the safe operation of motor vehicles and pedestrian traffic. Knowledge of budgeting policies and procedures. Knowledge of personnel supervision, administrative policies and practice. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to evaluate terminal building project work needs and to effectively establish priorities for such work. Ability to write related equipment and project specifications. Ability to train, plan, assign and direct the work of others. Ability to develop, implement and monitor comprehensive building preventative maintenance systems and operations and recommend positive cost-effective modifications. Ability to operate light motorized vehicles and construction equipment. Ability to understand regulations and determine compliance with such regulations. Ability to create, maintain and interpret maintenance records. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with superiors, subordinates and other employees, contractors, airport tenants and the public. Ability to utilize computer systems for both building (HVAC controls) and administrative (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.) duties.
